Qigong morning for health, Nanpai Kung Fu afternoon for martial arts

Qigong.
Sunday 8th October, 10-1.30pm, £18. Qigong (pronounced “chi gung”) is a way to harmonise body, energy and mind, and is one of the treasures of Chinese culture. It has grown out of a deep understanding of how health can be transformed and strengthened using simple but profound methods.
In this session you will learn how to;

Clear sick Qi (chi) from meridians and organs so improving health and energy levels.
Use the swimming Dragon exercises to open the energy gates in the body, increase flexibility and stretch/strengthen the spinal column.
Practise sitting meditation and use breathing methods to calm and relax the body and mind.
Beginners welcome.

Nanpai Kung Fu.
Sunday 8th October, 2.30-6pm, £18. Beginners welcome
A direct and practical and effective martial art that balances internal and external training not only for self defense but also for self healing.
In this afternoon session we will learn (according to ability) open hand forms, force application (fa jin) partner drills, martial applications and weapons.

This day will be run by Michael Henley, who has trained in Qigong (chi kung), Buddhist
and Taoist meditation and Chinese martial and healing arts since 1986. He is the founder of the Nanpai
Tai chi, Qigong & Kung Fu Association and is a registered instructor with the Buqi Institute, the Tai chi Union of Great Britain and the A.M.A.
